Quarterback Caleb Williams and safety Calen Bullock were named to the 2023 Preseason Walter Camp All-America First Team on Friday. It promises to be the first of many preseason All-America teams for Williams and potentially both players.

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound Williams was outstanding in 2022. The then-sophomore quarterback led the Trojans to 11 wins and won the Heisman Trophy in the process. In 2023, he’ll look to become just the second player ever to win the Heisman twice. And he’ll likely cement himself among the all-time USC greats.

In 2022, Williams set the single-season USC records for total offense, most total touchdowns responsible for, passing completions, passing yards, touchdown passes, lowest interception rate and highest pass efficiency rating. He also set the USC single-game record for total offense with 503 against UCLA. Williams led the nation with 42 passing touchdowns and finished No. 4 in passing yards per game.

Williams was named the Maxwell Award Winner, AP Player of the Year, Sporting News Player of the Year, Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year and a Unanimous All-American.

Walter Camp Teams and USC

Landing on the Walter Camp Preseason First Team was a no-brainer considering he was the Walter Camp Player of the Year in 2022. He’s one of just four players named to the preseason first team who earned first-team designation on the 2022 team. He’s joined by Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., Michigan running back Blake Corum and Indiana kick returner Jaylin Lucas.

Bullock earned All-American status last season by landing on the Pro Football Focus first team. He led the Trojans with five interceptions. He added 48 tackles and five pass breakups.

In 2022, Bullock was named to the AP All-Pac-12 First Team and All-Pac-12 Second Team.

Three Trojans finished on the Walter Camp First and Second teams in 2022. Williams was joined on the first team by defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu. Andrew Vorhees was a second-team offensive lineman despite missing the final two games of the season.
