USC Trojans cornerback Braylon Conley will enter the NCAA transfer portal when it opens in January, he announced via his X account on Monday evening.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Conley played in nine games as a redshirt freshman for the Trojans this season. He started games against Georgia Southern and Iowa, and played significant snaps in reserve against Illinois and UCLA. Conley finished the regular season with 14 tackles, one pass defended and a forced fumble.

While Conley struggled at times in coverage — including a tough day at Illinois in which he gave up a long pass play after a missed tackle and a key touchdown — he was always solid as a tackler in run support and showed improvement throughout the season.

USC will have a cornerback spot open next year with the departure of redshirt senior DeCarlos Nicholson. The Trojans will return starter Marcelles Williams and will return and add a ton of potential young players to the cornerback depth chart in transfer portal addition Chasen Johnson (who missed virtually the entire 2025 season with a knee injury) Class of 2025 signees RJ Sermons and Trestin Castro, plus 2026 commitments Elbert Hill, Brandon Lockhart, Joshua Holland and Jayden Crowder.

Conley will be able to officially enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal when it opens on January 2.
