USC's Tuesday practice has been postponed, the program announced with a message posted to its twitter account.

"Following today's verdict in the murder trial of George Floyd, our team has decided to postpone today's practice, and instead discuss the racial injustices prevalent in our society and in our daily lives," the message stated. "While we realize there is much work that needs to be done, it is important not to push the conversation to a later date as our Los Angeles community has witnessed injustices for years. We will continue to work with our university and local communities to use our platform to promote positive change."

USC players and coaches have been vocal over the past year when it comes to the topic of racial injustice and head coach Clay Helton has consistently praised and supported his players for speaking their minds and sharing their opinions on the matter.

Starting cornerback Chris Steele responded to the statement, saying, "It's bigger than ball here. Truly appreciate coach Helton and the staff for today."

No information was given as to when the practice will be made up. USC has six practices remaining this spring and is scheduled to be on the field Thursday and Saturday of this week.

Update: USC has rescheduled the practice for Wednesday afternoon at 3:25 pm.
