WeAreSC On3 11/30/22: Win-and-In, Riley on Revenge, and Pac 12 Play Begins
WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at USC entering the top four of the CFP Rankings, Lincoln Riley on revenge as a factor in the matchup with Utah, and the Trojan Basketball team opening up Pac 12 play tonight.
Win-and-In
The penultimate edition of the College Football Playoff rankings came out yesterday, and USC entered the top four for the first time this season. Only Georgia, Michigan, and TCU are currently ranked ahead of the Trojans.
This essentially puts USC in a win and in scenario for Friday’s Pac 12 Championship game. With a victory over Utah, the Trojans will likely lock up their first College Football Playoff appearance in school history.
Riley on Revenge
Back in October, USC suffered their only loss of the season to date, a one-point defeat at the hands of the Utes. On Friday, the Trojans will have a chance to avenge that loss.
When asked if revenge was a factor for USC, however, head coach Lincoln Riley downplayed that element, making it clear that the Pac 12 Championship Game, “is not a revenge game” for the Trojans.
“We played a really good football game, as did Utah up in Salt Lake,” Riley said. “It was an elite college football game. It came down to one play here or there. They got us that time. But this is not about that game.”
Pac 12 Play Begins
Tonight, USC Basketball opens up Pac 12 play for the 2022-2023 season. The Trojans travel up to the Bay Area to take on Cal.
Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM PST on Pac 12 Network.
