WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at Biletnikoff winner Jordan Addison officially signing with USC, a former star defensive player sounding off on Twitter, and the Trojans opening up as huge favorites in their season opener.

Jordan Addison to USC!

After weeks of speculation, it is now official: Jordan Addison is a USC Trojan.

After winning the Biletnikoff Award as a sophomore at Pitt last season, the star wide receiver elected to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal earlier this month. While USC was rumored to be Addison’s preferred destination from the start, the Biletnikoff winner also took an official visit to Texas, and he reportedly considered Alabama as well.

Addison should add a true number one option to an already deep USC wide receiver room. The Trojans also brought in several other transfer wideouts earlier this offseason, including Mario Williams, Terrell Bynum, and Brenden Rice. In addition, USC returns multiple 2021 contributors at the position, such as Gary Bryant Jr., Tahj Washington, and Kyle Ford.

Cravens sounds off on Twitter

As big as the Jordan Addison commitment was for USC, it was somewhat overshadowed nationally by the other major news in college football on Wednesday: the beef between Alabama head coach Nick Saban and Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher. First, Saban accused the Aggies of buying recruits while speaking at an event on Wednesday night. Fisher then responded on Thursday with one of the most memorable press conference of all time, in which he bashed Saban on a personal level numerous times.

Following Fisher’s press conference, former USC linebacker/safety Su’a Cravens weighed in on the issue on Twitter. Cravens did not hold back, claiming that when he was in high school, multiple SEC schools offered him five-figure paychecks just to visit their campuses

Given that Cravens enrolled at USC way back in 2013, it is clear that money being involved in recruiting is not exactly a new development, and that it far predates the NCAA’s current NIL rules.

Trojans open as huge favorites

We are still over 100 days away from USC’s 2022 season opener against Rice. But that didn’t stop Vegas from releasing an early line on the matchup on Wednesday.

The new-look Trojans are currently 34-point favorites over the Owls. Plan your bets accordingly.
