WeAreSC On3 9/14/22: Players of the Week, Updated Power Rankings, and New Twitter Handle
WeAreSC On3 is a daily three-point briefing recapping news and notes surrounding USC Athletics. Today, we take a look at two Trojans winning Pac 12 Player of the Week, On3’s updated Power Rankings for the Conference of Champions, and USC Football’s new Twitter handle.
Players of the Week
The Pac 12 recently announced its Players of the Week for week two. Following USC’s dominant win over Stanford, Trojans took home honors on both sides of the ball.
For his impressive performance against the Cardinal, USC quarterback Caleb Williams earned Pac 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors. Williams completed 20 of his 27 pass attempts on Saturday for 341 yards and four touchdowns.
In addition, Tuli Tuipulotu was named the Pac 12 Defensive Lineman of the Week. Tuipulotu recorded six total tackles on Saturday, including five solo tackles. Of those tackles, four were for a loss, and one was a sack.
Updated Power Rankings
Following week two action week two action, On3 updated its Pac 12 Power Rankings. For the second consecutive week, the Trojans claimed the top spot in the conference.
USC opened the season at number two in the Power Rankings, behind defending conference champion Utah. However, the Trojans moved into the top spot following the Utes‘ week one loss to Florida.
New Twitter Handle
Yesterday, USC Football announced that it has a new Twitter handle.
Previously, the account’s username was @USC_FB. Going forward, it will instead be @uscfb.
