A daily three-point briefing recapping the news and notes of USC athletics. Today it’s Jaxson Dart’s status, the Trojans offer a local defensive tackle, and Drake London has been that good.

Dart’s absence

Jaxson Dart was not in attendance for Wednesday’s USC practice (On3+). Dart also missed Tuesday’s practice. He’s dealing with the knee injury he suffered against Washington State. At this point it looks unlikely that he’ll be available for Oregon State. Kedon Slovis did return to practice early this week and looks completely healthy after being knocked out of the WSU game with a neck injury.

Local DT offer

USC needs to land a couple of interior linemen in this class. The Trojans lost true freshman Jay Toia to the transfer portal back in the spring and even if Brandon Pili can return to full health for the 2022 season, it will be his final one with the Trojans.

To that end, USC extended an offer to Mason Graham (Anaheim, Calif./Servite) on Wednesday. The 6-foot-4, 295-pound defensive lineman committed to Michigan last week after being committed to Boise State before that. He’s having a terrific senior season for the Friars and has seen his recruitment take off.

Drake’s Dominance

It was evident from spring ball and fall camp that USC wide receiver Drake London would have an impressive junior season before likely making himself available for the NFL draft.

He’s been by far USC’s most dangerous offensive weapon through three games, twice setting career records for receptions in a game. According to USC, London now ranks first in the nation among wide receivers in targets, receptions, yards, first-down catches and contested catches.

London caught 12 passes for 137 yards against San Jose State, four for 68 and a touchdown against Stanford and 13 for 170 and two touchdowns against Washington State.
