Based on his social media activity, Pittsburgh transfer Jordan Addison is starting to take official visits while he explores his options in the transfer portal.

Addison posted a picture to his Instagram story from his hotel in Austin, Texas, hinting at a visit to Texas. On3’s Gerry Hamilton confirmed it’s an official visit for Addison as he weighs his next steps after entering the transfer portal ahead of the May 1 deadline.

USC is also expected to be in the mix for Addison — the top transfer on the open market, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings. In fact, WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader put his prediction into the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine last week, and the RPM gives Addison a 100% chance of ending up with Lincoln Riley and USC.

But now Texas is entering the fray, which could make things interesting as he prepares to make a decision. It’s not a total shock, though. Last week, CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd listed Texas as a potential team to watch as Addison weighs his options in the portal. He said the Longhorns are a team to “keep your eyes on” as Steve Sarkisian tries to round out his roster in time for training camp.

In 2021 for Pitt, Addison had 100 receptions for 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns as Kenny Pickett’s top target and won the Biletnikoff Award. His name has become part of a larger discussion around college football. Before he put his name into the portal, rumors swirled of an NIL deal waiting for him if he heads to USC. Since those rumors started before Addison officially entered, Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi accused USC and Riley of tampering.

Addison arrived in Pittsburgh as the No. 218 recruit in the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Since then, he became a five-star college prospect, according to the On3 College Rating, and the No. 1 receiver in the country, as well as the nation’s No. 4 player.
