Auburn is firmly in the mix for Carrollton (Ga.) three-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux.

The one-time Tennessee commitment told Auburn Live earlier this month that the Tigers are “definitely top five” in his recruitment as of right now. Arnoux is back on The Plains this weekend as Hugh Freeze and his staff host multiple important targets.

Arnoux has also already locked in a June 14 official visit date with Auburn. He told TTJH Sports earlier this week that he’s also looking to set officials with Florida State, Georgia, LSU and Texas A&M. Auburn cornerbacks coach Wesley McGriff recently came to see Arnoux in the Peach State.

“(McGriff’s) message to me was that he wants me and we’re going to get this process started,” Arnoux told Auburn Live.

Arnoux committed to Tennessee last April, but opted to back off of his pledge to the Volunteers this February. He owns around 20 Power Four offers in total, but it’s Auburn that’s looking to grab the momentum this weekend.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder is the No. 473 overall prospect and No. 43 corner in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 50 player in Georgia.

Auburn Class Breakdown

The Tigers currently rank No. 9 in the 2025 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings with commitments from 10 prospects. Seven blue-chip recruits headline Auburn’s 2025 class.

Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE Jakaleb Faulk headlines the class as a top-200 recruit alongside Winona (Miss.) four-star linebacker Tyler Lockhart, Birmingham (Ala.) Parker four-star defensive lineman Jourdin Crawford, Opelika (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Malik Autry and Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star offensive tackle Tavaris Dice.

Buford (Ga.) four-star cornerback Devin Williams and Mobile (Ala.) Willamson four-star offensive tackle Carde Smith round out the list of blue-chippers.

Lockhart committed to Auburn on May 6 and is the latest to join the Tigers’ class.

Last month, Lockhart was a standout to On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power at the Under Armour Nashville camp. The blue-chipper’s playmaking ability helped him stand out in an impressive field.

“In a setting that isn’t typically favorable for linebackers, Tyler Lockhart managed to make some nice plays while flashing intriguing upside,” Power wrote. “The Winona (Miss.) High product has a great frame with plus length. He moved well in drills and managed to make some plays in 1-on-1’s. Lockhart closed quickly on a route in the flats and later stayed in-phase defending a wheel route, leading to a pass breakup.”
