LSU announces full 2023 baseball schedule

The 2023 LSU baseball schedule has arrived. The Tigers announced their full schedule Wednesday, including the entire SEC slate.

LSU starts the season with a three-game series against Western Michigan Feb. 17-19 and will compete in the Round Rock Classic Feb. 24-26 against Kansas State, Iowa and Sam Houston State before a big matchup against Texas. SEC play gets underway March 17-19 against Alabama before another round of non-conference games.

The Tigers went 40-22 overall and 17-13 in SEC action last season, but notably added some key transfers via the transfer portal this offseason. Two-way Air Force star Paul Skenes is among the highest-profile additions, posting a 10-3 record with 2.73 ERA as a pitcher while also adding a .314 batting average and 13 home runs at the plate.

LSU also landed former Vanderbilt pitcher Christian Little and former NC State first baseman Tommy White. White set the NCAA record for home runs by a freshman with 27 while also hitting .362 and drove in 74 runs. He earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors and was a Golden Spikes Award semifinalist.

Little made 18 appearances for Vanderbilt in 2022, including three starts. He had a 3.72 ERA in 38.2 innings of work to go with 46 strikeouts and three saves. He also had a 1-2 record on the bump before entering the portal.
