Quinn Ewers is one of the stars of EA Sports College Football 25, with the official cover being released on Thursday. We also have a release date, with July 19 being circled on people’s calendars. Plenty more information will be revealed before then, including player ratings.

When asked for his guess on his rating, Ewers gave himself a 96 overall. That could make him one of the highest-rated players in the game, especially among quarterbacks.

“I’m going to be unbiased here,” Ewers said via MMG on YouTube. “I’m going to go with what I truly think I’m going to be. I think I’m going to be around a 96 overall.”

Ewers does believe fellow cover stars Donovan Edwards and Travis Hunter will be in a similar range with Hunter maybe getting a slight edge due to his dual-threat ability at wide receiver and cornerback.

Now, there are still going to be areas Ewers is not too happy with his rating. He predicted EA Sports would not get his speed correct, believing he is faster than what the game reflects. Ewers thinks he should be somewhere in the 80s.

“Probably my speed,” Ewers said. “I’m telling you. They’re probably going to put me at a 70-something speed. But I think I could sneak up into the 80s if they really got me out there and they saw me run.”

There is proof too, just ask the Texas Strength and Conditioning program. Ewers has run as fast as some of his teammates during workouts at certain points, even if there is not a 40-yard dash time to back up his words. Instead, check the GPS system to see his top speed while running, presumably without pads.

“I haven’t run a 40 in a while,” Ewers said. “But I’ll tell you this right now, we have GPS systems and I hit 20 miles per hour. So, I’m rolling in the school zone. I follow the law.”

Speed has been a big topic of discussion for Texas, with wide receiver Xavier Worthy breaking the all-time NFL Combine 40-yard dash record at 4.21. Adonai Mitchell did not perform too poorly either, recording a 4.34.

Ewers is not in their range but is ready to disagree with whatever speed rating EA Sports gives him. Or maybe he will wind up in the 80s and be a nice surprise when the game officially comes out this summer.
