Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei running back Jordon Davison narrowed his list down to Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon recently. The four-star plans to commit to one of those schools before his senior season and he has scheduled official visits to each before doing so.

The No. 90 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking will be in Tuscaloosa on May 31, Ann Arbor on June 7, Eugene on June 14 and Columbus on June 21.

When Davison revealed his finalists and previewed his decision, he said, “I am looking for the best opportunity. Relationships are essential, how running backs are used in the offense and where I have a chance to win will be things I look for in the future.

“My goal is to commit later this summer, but there is no guarantee,” Davison added. “My focus will be on these four schools and I am in a good place.

“It will come down to opportunity and where I feel is the best place I can thrive at. I want to be around good people, have support beyond football and be at the right place to succeed.”

Davison on Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State and Oregon

Alabama: “The main thing is Coach G (Robert Gillespie),” Davison said. “He is genuine, we have a great connection and I love his past with developing backs. He feels I am the best back in the country and that means a lot too. Then Alabama has that running back history and I have relationships with Coach DeBoer, Coach Nick Sheridan and Courtney Morgan.”

Michigan: “Coach Tony Alford and I have a special relationship,” Davison said. “From day one when I worked out with him at camp, we have had that connection. Since he got to Michigan, we have remained in contact. He told me he was leaving Ohio State two days before it came out, so we have that type of relationship. With him at Michigan, that impacts my interest in them. I have been up there, and … now have to get up there, see how I feel and go from there.”

Ohio State: “I have a great relationship with Coach Carlos Locklyn. It goes back to Oregon and when they started recruiting me. I think Coach Ryan Day prioritized choosing a coach that has a good relationship with me and that meant a lot. Coach Day has been very consistent with me and I like the direction the program is headed and how this recruiting class is going.”

Oregon: “Oregon is a west coast school that I have been to a lot. I know players up there and Coach Dan Lanning and Coach Will Stein are great guys that I have good relationships with. Those guys keep me around the program. I spent more time with Coach Ra’Shaad Samples on my last visit and we had some good talks and are still getting to know each other.”
