Kentucky has two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster. That is not a lot. New offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan went looking for some help during the spring transfer portal window. The Wildcats hosted a Pac-12 transfer who has one year of eligibility remaining in April.

Collin Schlee spent last season at UCLA after beginning his career at Kent State. The dual-threat quarterback visited both Kentucky and Virginia Tech. The super senior made his final decision on Tuesday. Schlee is heading closer to his Maryland home.

Virginia Tech returns starter Kyrone Drones after a solid year one in Blacksburg after transferring over from Baylor. The Hokies now had a quality backup behind Drones. Collin Schlee has seen action in 31 career games accumulating 2,677 passing yards, 1,264 non-sack rushing yards, and 29 total touchdowns.

Kentucky is set to enter the season with Georgia transfer Brock Vandagriff and true freshman Cutter Boley as the only scholarship quarterbacks. Georgia Southern transfer Beau Allen has re-joined the program as a walk-on but is expected to compete with Boley for the QB2 job during fall camp.
