Date for Kentucky-Gonzaga matchup in 2024-25 reportedly set
For the third season in a row, as part of a six-game series between the two programs, the Kentucky Wildcats and Gonzaga Bulldogs will meet on the hardwood.
According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, the 2024-25 edition of this matchup has been scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7 in Seattle, WA. This will be just the fourth time in history that these two teams have met.
The first game of this new series in 2022-23 took place in Spokane with game two in 2023-24 hosted at Rupp Arena. Unfortunately, Kentucky dropped both games, but the opportunity for revenge will present itself this winter up in Washington.
The Kentucky-Gonzaga series was sparked back in 2022 when former UK head coach John Calipari got together with current Gonzaga head coach Mark Few. It was something that had been in the works for a while between the two coaches, but even with Calipari now at Arkansas, the show will go on (plus, the ink on the contract dried up a couple of years ago).

Kentucky and Gonzaga first met back in 2002 at the Maui Classic Invitational, which saw the Wildcats win 80-72. It was another 20 years before the rematch, which saw Gonzaga blow out Kentucky, 88-72, at Spokane Arena in Nov. 2022. A season later in Feb. 2024, the venue shifted to Rupp Arena, but the result was the same: another loss, this time by a closer score of 89-85.
Looking ahead, the 2025-26 matchup will take place in Nashville, the 2026-27 matchup back in Rupp Arena, and the 2027-28 matchup at the McCarthey Athletic Center on Gonzaga’s campus.
