Jamier Jones, one of the top prospects in the 2025 class, has committed to Kim English and Providence, he told On3.

The 6-foot-6 small forward out of Oak Ridge (FL) chose the Friars over a top group of Ohio State, Houston, South Carolina, LSU, and Kansas.

Jones on his decision to choose Providence

The deciding factor for Jamier to commit to Providence is simple, he says.

“The loyalty of coach English and the coaching staff. I wouldn’t want to trust any other coaching staff to get me to where I want to be which is the NBA. Everything those guys have been telling me sounds great and I’m just ready to work hard and do what I do to reach my goal!”

Providence head coach Kim English played a key role in Jones’ commitment.

“Like I said, the loyalty. This guy hasn’t switched up yet. He’s still been the same dude during the whole recruiting process. From FaceTime calls before games, to coaching me through games, before I was even thinking about committing. It’s really not too much else you can ask for in a head coach like that man!”

In his own words, what type of player is Providence getting in Jamier Jones?

“One word: Dog. Literally the dog mentally I play with separates me a lot. I’m a willing passer and love to get my teammates involved. I put pressure on the rim (rim attacker is the best thing I do) and I can knock down shots and it’s only going to get better from here.”

Jamier has a message for Providence fans.

“Man, I love that fan base so much it’s crazy! I’M COMING!! PC fans grab your popcorn and your drink because every night it’s going to be the best movie you guys have ever seen. That’s not just me but the team. Go Friars!”

According to the On3 Industry Ranking, Jones is ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 18 overall player in the nation in the 2025 cycle. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
