Colorado vs. Nebraska officially set for an NBC primetime kickoff on Sept. 7
It’s now official. Colorado vs. Nebraska will kick off under the lights in Memorial Stadium.
NBC officially announced on Monday that the Huskers and the Buffs will play on Sept. 7 at 6:30 p.m. in the Week 2 showdown.
HuskerOnline reported on Thursday last week that NBC began making preliminary arrangements to televise the game in Lincoln.

TV networks began meeting last week to set the early schedules. It’s clear that NBC heavily coveted the CU vs. NU game.
The game drew 8.73 million viewers a year ago on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff, as Colorado head coach Deion Sanders was one of the hottest stories in college football then. It was the most viewers to watch a Nebraska game since the 2010 Big 12 championship against Oklahoma (8.98 million).
The game was kept off FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff because Texas and Michigan will also meet that week.
It’s the only opportunity FOX will have to air a Texas game as they square off against last year’s national champion. Sept. 7 has a chance to be one of the most-watched regular season college football weekends in recent history.
We should learn more about Nebraska’s early season kickoff times in the coming days. Another twist will be the Big Ten’s new beefed-up Friday night slate, which is expected to air on FOX.
