Fans got a sneak peek at what’s to come with EA Sports College Football 25, with the official covers being released on Thursday. Colorado star Travis Hunter is one of the stars, alongside Texas QB Quinn Ewers and Michigan RB Donovan Edwards. All three were in Dallas earlier this year for the official shoot as the cover’s background is the Cotton Bowl.

In between takes, Hunter took some time to predict what his eventual rating would be. He thinks EA Sports will give him a 98 overall due to his ability as a wide receiver and cornerback. Despite playing two positions, Hunter believes it will all be packaged into one.

“One person, it’s got to be the same,” Hunter said via MMG on YouTube.

Earning an initial rating of 99 is going to be tough for anybody. Hunter has a ton of self-confidence and even he has his rating one tick below.

But if you ask Ewers, Hunter is the player with the best chance of earning the 99 overall. His dual-threat ability is well documented but Colorado is not afraid to use their star player in the return game either. Getting it done in all three phases might bump you up to the 99 Club.

“I’m not sure if they’re going to put anyone at 99 but if they did, I think he’ll be the closest to it,” Ewers said. “Just because his overall ability on offense, defense, special teams. He can do it in all three phases.”

If there is one area Hunter is worried about his rating, it’s his speed. He does not want EA Sports to leave him short in the department, hoping to be somewhere in the 90s. Guessing before it’s officially revealed, Hunter predicted between 86-89.

“My speed,” Hunter said. “I think they’ll do me dirty… I think it will be at an 89, 86.”

His answer quickly changed though when discussing coming around on a jet sweep. Describing himself as “untouchable” anything believe than a perfect juke rating would be a disappointment for Hunter.

“My juke move might be the most wrong (rating),” Hunter said. “Because I’m untouchable. It’s got to be a 99 or something.”

There’s no doubt Hunter will be an entertaining player to use when the game officially comes out. Having him catch passes from Shedeur Sanders on one play before lining him up against a top wide receiver will be a ton of fun. Hopefully, his stamina rating is quite high too.
