Sunday night’s baseball game between Oklahoma and Texas has been called following a weather delay in the eighth inning. The Longhorns led 12-10 at the time the contest was stopped and thus claimed the victory in the series-deciding match.

Lightning was spotted within eight miles of L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman at 8:40 p.m. CT which caused the delay. Sooners play-by-play man Toby Rowland reported that Big 12 rules stated the game had to resume by 10 p.m. to be allowed to finish. Lightning was again detected at 9:42 p.m., meaning the game could resume no sooner than 10:12 p.m. per NCAA rules, leading to the decision to call it.

OU coach Skip Johnson was seen speaking with Longhorns coach David Pierce shortly after the decision was made to call the game. You can view their interaction below.
