Personal Life
Jermaine Johnson was a solid player coming out of Eden Prairie (Minn.) but a 1.9 GPA held him back from any DI offers. So, he went to Independence Community College in Independence, Kansas, where Netflix was filming a season of “Last Chance U.” He was a featured star in the third season of the documentary when he became one of the top JUCO recruits in the country. After two years at Independence C.C., he transferred to Georgia. He spent two years with the Bulldogs, making four starts, before moving to spend his COVID fifth year at Florida State. He was majoring in computer systems engineering at Georgia.
