San Jose State defensive back Jay’Vion Cole has set up a pair of visits as he seeks a new home out of the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on his Twitter account Thursday morning.

Cole plans to visit Texas this weekend, then Auburn from May 7-9, giving him a chance to check out the Longhorns and Tigers and weigh his options.

Other schools remain interested in Cole’s services, with Michigan State among those who have tried to orchestrate a visit to get to know the 5-foot-10 sophomore. Texas is the current presumed leader, with 52.7% of predictions favoring the Longhorns, versus 46.1% for the Tigers.

Cole earned honorable mention in the Mountain West this past season. He was in his first season at San Jose State after spending 2022 at Cal Poly.

This year, Cole racked up 38 tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, three interceptions and 13 passes defended.

In the last two years, he has played in 24 games and tallied 59 total tackles, 3.0 tackles for a loss, a sack, seven interceptions and 22 passes defended.

Prior to enrolling at Cal Poly, Jay’Vion Cole did not have an On3 Industry Ranking, as not enough of the major recruiting services provided a grade. On3 graded Cole out as a three-star prospect with an 85 grade.

Since entering the transfer portal, Cole has been reranked and given a four-star status with a 94 grade, making him one of the top available players in the portal.

Auburn receiver enters the transfer portal

Auburn wide receiver Koy Moore has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He originally started his career at LSU and has played four total seasons of college football.

Moore only hauled in three catches for 24 yards in 2023 but he had broken out with 314 yards the year prior, his first with Auburn after transferring away from the other Tigers.

Moore, who is listed at six-feet tall and 190 pounds, entered the transfer portal in October of 2021 initially after a tough sophomore season, which came on the heels of a solid freshman year in which he had 22 receptions for 177 yards. His best game at LSU was his last of that freshman season against Ole Miss. Moore had six catches for 63 yards, both career-highs at the time.

On3 will have more on this developing story shortly.
