ORLANDO, Fla. — Day two of practice for the Under Armour All-America Game is in the books. 85 of the nation’s top football prospects from the 2024 recruiting cycle were at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports on Sunday. On3 was on hand to take in the action.

Practices will run until Monday. The game will be played at Camping World Stadium on January 3.

FULL 2024 UNDER ARMOUR ALL-AMERICA GAME ROSTER | DAY 1 EYE-CATCHERS

The roster is divided into two teams – Team Fire and Team Ice. Both teams had simultaneous practices on adjacent fields, and following a slower first practice on Saturday, practice No. 2 was filled with much more action. Several prospects showed out on Sunday.

On3 MVP: WR Cam Coleman — Auburn

Auburn wide receiver signee Cam Coleman was the clear top performer at Day 2 of Under Armour practices, putting on a show in 1-on-1’s and getting the best of several touted cornerbacks. His high-end athleticism and ability to win at the catch-point were evident on nearly every rep. At 6-foot-3.5, Coleman is one of the biggest receivers here in Orlando, but he can really run at that size. The future Tiger has exceptional burst off the line of scrimmage and was able to separate vertically. Coleman had the best array of highlight, acrobatic grabs we saw on Sunday. He showed outstanding ability to adjust to throws. Coleman looks to have the largest catch radius here and finished consistently with strong hands and great catching technique. It’s also worth noting Coleman did this in marquee matchups against touted corners like Five-Star Plus+ Georgia signee Ellis Robinson IV and Tennessee signee Kaleb Beasley. Coleman ranks No. 5 overall in the 2024 On300. – Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power

2. WR Joshisa Trader — Miami

Day 2 at Under Armour allowed for Joshisa Trader to show off his ability to separate and win at the catch point in a more competitive practice than what we saw yesterday. Trader was extremely impressive in Team Ice’s 1-on-1 period. His consistency in being able to set up his routes at all levels of the field is quite nuanced at this stage. Trader showed the ability to win with twitch and wiggle off the line of scrimmage. Even when defenders were able to stay in phase, he was able to pluck the ball away from his frame and bring down contested catches. He flashed the ability to make splash plays making a one-handed grab on a slot fade in the back of the endzone. During the team period Trader made a couple of catches as well cementing what was an all-around excellent day of work. The future Hurricane was an easy call as On3’s top performer for Team Ice on Day 2 of Under Armour practice. Trader checks in at No. 128 overall in the On300. – National Scout Cody Bellaire

3. EDGE Jordan Ross — Tennessee

No pass rusher showed more juice off the edge than Jordan Ross on Day 2 at Under Armour. Ross flashed excellent first step quickness throughout the day. The 6-foot-4.5, 220-pounder continued to look very loose in his movements. The speed and fluidity were on display in 1-on-1’s. While several of his peers opted to bull rush over and over, Ross showed the ability win with speed and moves. We saw the Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills product beat USC signee Makai Saina with a very nice up and under move. Ross’s twitchy athleticism and change of direction results in a dangerous presence off the edge. The future Volunteer ranks as the No. 38 overall prospect in the On300. – Charles Power

4. WR Mike Matthews — Tennessee

Mike Matthews was the top receiver for Team Fire after Cam Coleman. The 6-foot-0.5, 180 pounder showed outstanding ability to separate within his routes during the 1-on-1 period. Matthews was able to hit top speed very quickly and had the look of a dangerous deep threat. The ability to get vertical against the cornerbacks on hand was readily apparent. Matthews’ best play of the day came on a deep ball, as he got behind Auburn signee Jalyn Crawford and tracked the ball to come down with a diving grab in the back of the end zone. We also saw Matthews create some separation against Five-Star Plus+ corner Ellis Robinson IV. The lone blemish on the Tennessee signee’s day came when he was unable to come down with a few grabs at the catch point. Matthews will need to continue working on his concentration and it’s something he could improve with more reps at wide receiver, as he was a two-way athlete at the high school level. – Charles Power

5. OT Jordan Seaton — Colorado

We were finally able to see the offensive line square up against the defensive line on Sunday. Colorado signee Jordan Seaton showed up in a big way during 1-on-1’s. He lined up against Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Williams Nwaneri and won two of the three reps. Seaton then won his following two reps to finish 4 for 5 on the day. He continued to show well during the team period, flashing his strength at the point of attack and understanding of leverage. Seaton showed advanced understanding of setting up angles and paving lanes in the run game during team period and 9-on-7. He was the best offensive lineman on either team during Day 2’s practice. Seaton ranks as the No. 6 overall prospect in the On300. – Cody Bellaire

6. EDGE Booker Pickett — Miami

If we were giving out superlatives for defensive linemen after Sunday’s practice then Booker Pickett would be a shoo-in for ‘Most Dynamic.’ His athleticism was evident during drills and bag work on Saturday evening, but it was really on full display during the 1-on-1 portion of Sunday’s practice. The Tampa native’s ability to bend the corner and fly off the line of scrimmage is very impressive. Pickett is so comfortable when it comes to working vertically and beating offensive tackles to their spot in their pass sets. He was undefeated during the 1-on-1 period and had a fair share of hurries during the team period as well. Pickett is on the lighter side, but his play strength is solid, given his size. There’s no question he put on an electric performance on Day 2 at Under Armour. Pickett ranks as an On300 prospect. – Cody Bellaire

7. CB Aaron Scott Jr. — Ohio State

In periods where defensive backs can be over-evaluated and picked on, Aaron Scott Jr. had a handful of “wow” plays during Day 2 at Under Armour. In 1-on-1’s, wide receivers usually have the upper hand due to having so much green grass to work with and it forces defenders to play on an island. Scott made it feel more like an even playing field due to his technique, length physicality. His ability to re-route receivers off the line of scrimmage is quite impressive. As one of the longer corners at the event, Scott is able to get his hands on receivers and make plays at the catch point with regularity. Joshisa Trader and Scott traded blows during the 1-on-1 period. Trader crossed Scott up on a deep post. Scott fired back, shutting Trader down on an in-breaking route. The Ohio State signee also showed off his hip fluidity and ability to change direction, staying in phase during the team period. All in all, the flashes were there in what is an unfavorable matchup for defensive backs. Scott, who ranks as the No. 26 overall in the On300 put forth a strong showing on Day 2 of practice. – Cody Bellaire

8. LB Chris Cole — Georgia

Chris Cole was among a contingent of Georgia signees who arrived at Under Armour on Sunday following the Bulldogs’ Orange Bowl win. At around 6-foot-3, 210 pounds with noticeably long arms, Cole looks to have the best frame of the linebackers on hand. Given the practice structure, we aren’t able to see a ton from the linebackers outside of position drills until the session moves to 11-on-11 periods. That’s when we saw the future Bulldog make an impact. Cole triggered and jumped a pass during a 2-minute drill, coming down with a very nice interception that may have gone for a pick-six in a live game. That highlight play along with his movement skills in drills are good enough to land inside the top ten for Day 2. – Charles Power

9. EDGE Zina Umeozulu — Texas

One of the players that we felt showed a lot of tools in his bag during Day 2’s practice was Zina Umeozulu. Honestly, we saw things on Sunday that we had not seen on Umeozulu’s film to this point. His blend of size and movement skills allowed him to win in a variety of ways during the 1-on-1 and team periods. Umeozulu touts a big frame 6-foot-4, 230 pounds with plus length. He showed the capacity to win with speed and athleticism. We saw him win one rep in 1-on-1’s with a speed dip. Later, the Texas signee flashed the ability to win with power and hand placement. He won one rep with a long arm and planted an offensive lineman in the dirt with a bull rush on the next rep. We saw him take reps inside and outside – indicating scheme versatility. There’s a bit of a learning curve as a run defender, as he can get a bit out of control and run himself out of plays. With that said, the effort and energy is there. Umeozulu had such promising flashes during Sunday’s practice and we are looking forward to see if he can continue to put it all together throughout the rest of the week. – Cody Bellaire

10. DL Dominick McKinley — Texas A&M

Dominick McKinley had the most complete performance among the defensive linemen on Team Fire. The Louisiana native is a well-built, looking to be around 6-foot-5, 290 pounds with plus length. He moved quite well at that size on Sunday. McKinley showed the ability to fire off the ball, flashing good first-step quickness. He had a few nice wins during 1-on-1’s. We were able to see him convert speed to power as he forklifted Houston signee Ray’Quan Bell off his feet. During the team period, McKinley showed the ability to get skinny and avoid blocks while playing in a phone booth. He plays naturally low for a player of his stature. The combination of size, length and flexibility are notable. When McKinley comes off the ball with vigor, he’s a load for offensive linemen to handle. McKinley ranks as the No. 37 prospect in the On300. – Charles Power

Additional notes

+ Florida signee DJ Lagway and Penn State signee Ethan Grunkeyemer were the top two quarterbacks during Day 2. Both delivered some great throws during the 1-on-1 period. Things became a bit dicier during the team period, as Team Fire’s offensive line struggled to protect.

+ A handful of cornerbacks had notable performances over the course of Sunday. Texas signee Kobe Black fared well in 1-on-1’s using his length and physicality to give receivers issues. Miami signee Ryan Mack showed strong coverage instincts, consistently finding himself in great position to make plays. Mack had a handful of strong reps against Mylan Graham and Jeremiah McClellan. Tennessee signee Kaleb Beasley gave up a few contested grabs, but consistently found himself in good position. Five-star Georgia signee Ellis Robinson IV put forth an admirable effort, showing good footwork and ability to make plays on the ball with his length.

+ A day after winning the Fastest Man competition, we didn’t see Alabama signee Jaylen Mbakwe take a ton of reps in 1-on-1 or 11-on-11 work, but he did fare well in the limited exposure, particularly 11-on-11.

+ Auburn wide receiver signee Perry Thompson made a push for the top ten with another impressive showing on Sunday. We saw the 6-foot-3, 210 pounder body defensive backs in 1-on-1’s. He boxed out Kobe Black in the end zone, out leaping the Texas signee for a touchdown grab. Thompson and Cam Coleman give Hugh Freeze an imposing pair of big, athletic pass catchers on the outside.

+ Alabama commit Ryan Williams continued to show high level athleticism and movement skills. The track star was able to separate underneath and over the middle of the field in 7-on-7. He can continue to improve his consistency in finishing at the catch point.

+ Georgia linebacker signee Justin Williams looked very athletic during the team period. Williams was able to get his hand on a pass in the end zone.

+ Though ranked as an athlete, Texas A&M commit Terry Bussey is working at receiver in Orlando. He was able to consistently get open and catch the ball away from his body.

+ Five-star pass rushers Dylan Stewart and Williams Nwaneri had up and down days. There’s no doubt both are very physically gifted. Stewart had a ho-hum showing during 1-on-1’s primarily relying on a bull rush. Nwaneri has all the tools and had some moments, but could to show some more fire and physicality.

+ Oregon signee Aydin Breland showed good first step quickness as a pass rusher along the interior. Oklahoma signee David Stone is among the more technical defensive linemen, as he understands how to use his hands at the point of attack.

+ Florida State signee Jonathan Daniels looks to be the most gifted offensive lineman on Team Fire by a fair margin. Daniels won his fair share of 1-on-1 reps. He has an outstanding frame and moves well, but will need to continue working on his polay strength and anchor.

+ Oklahoma signee Eugene Brooks was very strong on the interior. He won many of his reps in 1-on-1’s due to his physicality at the point of attack. Fellow sooner pledge Daniel Akinkumi showed good reset and anchor in 1-on-1’s. Clemson interior offensive line signee Elyjah Thurmon also was very strong at the point of attack.

+ Five-Star Plus+ Texas Tech wide receiver signee Micah Hudson was not active on Sunday as he’s been dealing with a lower body injury. The same could be said for Five-Star Plus+ Texas signee Colin Simmons who appears to be out for the week with an ankle injury.
