Booker Pickett

Booker Pickett was named a MaxPreps Junior All-American after a 2022 season that saw him rack up 56 tackles, a jaw-dropping 30 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss. He also helped Tampa (Florida) Wharton finish with an 8-3 record and make Florida’s 3M playoffs. “I’m an edge rusher that can get to the quarterback from wherever I line up,” Pickett told On3. “My job is to get after the quarterback and take him down.” Pickett’s uncle is former Ohio State great, defensive tackle Ryan Pickett. He played 14 seasons in the NFL and was selected in the first round of the 2001 NFL draft by the St. Louis Rams.

Elite / Top 100

Prolific sack artist who is one of the more dangerous speed rushers in the 2024 cycle. Has unverified size, looking to be around 6-foot-3.5, 210 pounds. Owns some of the best first-step quickness among EDGE prospects in the cycle. Flies off the edge. Shows outstanding bend, dipping his shoulder to get around offensive tackles. Very advanced from a technique perspective. Has quick and polished hands. Swipes to avoid engagement. Has pass rush moves, including a spin. Plays with an outstanding effort level. Tracks down plays from the backside. One of the more productive pass rushers in the cycle. Tallied 23 tackles for loss and 16 sacks as a senior. Notched 76 sacks over his four-year varsity career. Turned in a show-stopping performance at the Under Armour All-America Game as a senior. Will need to continue adding mass and strength to hold up against the run. Younger for the cycle, turning 18 years-old in June prior to his freshman season of college.
