The New York Giants selected Malik Nabers in the first round of the NFL Draft, and his rookie contract has been revealed. According to Spotrac, the former LSU Tigers wide receiver will sign a four-year $29.2 million with an $18 million signing bonus.

The contract is fully guaranteed, and with Nabers being a first-round pick, the Giants have an option to keep him for a fifth year. Nabers joins the Giants after having a standout career at LSU. He emerged as one of the best wide receivers last season, catching 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Experts and coaches love Malik Nabers

“Malik Nabers gives them that explosive option,” ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper said before the draft. “They haven’t had a 1,000-yard wide receiver in forever, right? OBJ in 2018. No explosive pass plays since Daniel came into the league, and I still like Daniel Jones, but Malik Nabers gives them that ability. Okay? That fear factor player that he is so desperately in need.”

“I have a lot of respect for Malik on a number of different levels,” LSU offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock said. “But mostly because he comes to better his craft every single day. There’s not a time where he doesn’t have his complete attention on getting better at what he does on the practice field. People like that you just naturally kind of move toward. He is somebody that is a good example for us, especially the younger players in our program, to watch, to emulate on how to show up every day, how to put yourself in a position where you can improve at the skills necessary.”

Nabers has a chance to be a top target for Jones and one of the top playmakers in the league. ESPN draft analyst Aaron Schatz compared Nabers to Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

Schatz wrote: “Nabers (LSU) and Lamb both have the talent to dominate routes at all three levels and change tempo to get open, and both of them needed some improvement in running crisp routes coming out of college (Lamb was in the 2020 class). The two have similar frames, but Lamb is slightly taller than Naber’s 6-foot stature at 6-2.”
