The sight of Vince Marrow throwing Ls Down is typically not seen until after Kentucky kicks Louisville’s ass. On Saturday night we got to see the Ls Down before the Wildcats thoroughly whooped the Cards.

The Kentucky associate football coach was the UK ice hockey team’s guest of honor. Prior to the highly-anticipated matchup between Kentucky and Louisville on the hockey rink, Marrow was tasked to drop the ceremonial first puck.

Some might be cordial for such an event. That’s not the Big Dog. He threw the Ls Down as hard as he possibly could at center ice.

He wasn’t the only esteemed member of the Big Blue Nation on hand to watch the festivities. Following the victory over Georgia at Rupp Arena, Reed Sheppard, Justin Edwards, Grant Darbyshire and Walker Horn went to the Lexington Ice Center to cheer on the Wildcats.

The folks who stayed up late for a little midnight club hockey were treated to a beatdown of epic proportions. The Cats took an early 3-1 in the first period, then ran away from Louisville. Kentucky kept the bourbon barrel trophy in Lexington with a 7-1 victory over the Cards.

If you thought Rupp was rowdy yesterday, the Lexington Ice Center gave it a run for its money with the late-night crowd. Never seen a Kentucky hockey game before? It’s an experience unlike any other. Michigan will make the trip to Lexington on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3. You can catch each game when the puck drops at Midnight.
