Arizona State forward Kamari Lands enters NCAA transfer portal
Arizona State forward Kamari Lands has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He started his college career at Louisville.
Lands appeared in 32 games for Arizona State this past season and made three starts. In that time, he averaged 4.5 points and 2.5 rebounds as the Sun Devils went 14-18 overall and 8-12 in Pac-12 play. That came after one year at Louisville in which he averaged 5.9 points across 32 games before taking his talents to Tempe.
Lands played high school basketball at Hillcrest Prep (Ind.), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 64 overall player from the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Lands is one of seven Arizona State players to enter the portal so far this cycle. That group includes Frankie Collins, who committed to TCU earlier this week.

Collins began his career at Michigan and is a former four-star recruit out of Coronado (Nev.) High School. He was the No. 48 overall player in the nation from the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. A Pac-12 All-Defense selection, Collins averaged 2.6 steals per game to go with 13.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists this season.
After entering the portal, Collins came in as the No. 28-ranked point guard in the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings.
Arizona State had a rough go in 2023-24, finishing with a 14-18 overall record and an 8-12 mark in Pac-12 play. The Sun Devils are now gearing up to undergo a major shift, though, with a move to the Big 12 coming up next year. ASU – along with Arizona, Colorado and Utah – will all be making the move after a groundbreaking round of realignment left the Pac-12 as just Oregon State and Washington State.
