Florida State Seminoles Look to Build ELITE OL Class in 2025 | Inside Scoop

Despite owning a top-15 recruiting class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings, Florida State currently possesses just four commitment in its 2025 class.

Per usual, the Seminoles will look to heat up on the recruiting trail this summer — and another big-time pledge could be on the horizon. FSU is trending heavily for Port Charlotte (Fla.) four-star defensive lineman Myron Charles, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Last week, On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong, as well as Seminoles recruiting insiders Michael Langston and Matt LaSerre logged picks in favor of Florida State landing the coveted in-state lineman. The Noles now own over a 90% cushion and look to be in pole position.

After making it to Tallahassee last fall, Charles has returned to campus multiple times this spring. Mike Norvell and his staff have made some major impressions on the 6-foot-4, 300-pounder along the way.

“I like Florida State’s position for Myron Charles right now. Talked to him this week, I think they continue to set the pace in this recruitment,” Wiltfong told On3’s Josh Newberg this week. “Another program to definitely watch is Texas, but the Seminoles, their play-style, the way they develop defensive linemen under the staff. Being around great players, being around the energy of this coaching staff, those are all things that really stand out to him right now. I feel like Florida State is in pole position as he goes into his official visits.”

Four official visits up next for Charles

Charles’ official visit schedule currently features trips to Florida (May 31), USC (June 7), Miami (June 14) and FSU (June 21). The other in-state powerhouses, as well as the Trojans out west, have also pushed hard for Charles. Official visits could alter the race, but the other three programs look to be chasing Norvell and Co. entering the summer.

“What excites me is their play style,” Charles previously said of the Noles. “They’re gonna develop you to the max and to let athletes be athletes. Got a great staff that’s not gonna let you fail. Only one stopping you is yourself. Truly where stars come to shine. Gonna be surrounded by great players that also want to be great that’s gonna push you and have people you can compete against everyday.

…I think FSU is gonna continue to grow. They know how to recruit the right way. Everyone not just the football staff has been there for so long and still enjoy getting outta bed early in the morning and staying there late. Just by so many great people every day.”

Charles is the No. 113 overall prospect and No. 8 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 17 player in Florida.

On3 ranks Charles higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 58 overall, No. 4 at DL and No. 8 in the Sunshine State in the 2025 On300.
