Dan Lanning & Co. in Eugene completed one of Oregon’s best recruiting classes in the last decade in the 2024 cycle. The Ducks finished No. 4 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings signing 19 blue-chip prospects.

With seven commitments in 2025 cycle, the Ducks are off to another great start. Oregon currently ranks No. 6 in the 2025 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Oregon Class Breakdown

Tampa Bay Tech five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson headlines the class for Oregon, ranking No. 22 in the On3 Industry Ranking. He’s joined by San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln four-star quarterback Akili Smith Jr., Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt and Belleville (Ill.) Althoff Catholic four-star athlete Dierre Hill in the top 150.

As the son of former Ducks star and NFL top-5 pick Akili Smith, Akili Jr. grew up around the program wearing Ducks gear.

“It means the world to me to be committed to Oregon,” he told On3. “It has always been my dream to be a Duck. Since I have been able to walk, my dad has had me in Oregon stuff, I have watched a lot of Oregon games and this is a dream coming true. I get to carry on my dad’s legacy, start my own legacy and at the same time play for a great program like Oregon and push for my dreams to reach the NFL.”

Smith Jr. visited Eugene a week before committing in July.

“It was really about the feeling I had when I got there,” he said. “As soon as I got on campus, hung out with the coaches a little bit and once again saw how beautiful Eugene is, I knew I was ready to commit. I fell in love with everything going on at Oregon.

“A month or two ago, I was thinking I would commit at the end of my junior season, so I am a little surprised that I was ready this soon. But it was that feeling. Oregon is where I want to be and now I have locked in my spot at my dream school. That is where I want to be and now I am excited to be able to call myself a Duck.”

Top Ducks Offensive Commit: WR Dallas Wilson

The No. 4 wide receiver in the class, Wilson ranks No. 22 overall and No. 3 in Florida in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Wilson’s scouting summary from the On3 Scouting and Rankings team:

“Twitchy wide receiver with the ability to win at the catch point and some of the best after-catch ability in the cycle. Measured in at 6-foot-3, 185 pounds with good length prior to his junior season. A good athlete who runs well in the combine setting. Shows a well-rounded skill set on Friday nights. A functional athlete who has a noticeable bounce in his movement. Shows quick feet with the ability to cut on a dime. Physical and flashes strong hands at the catch point. Attacks the ball in high-point situations. Outstanding after the catch. Sticks his foot in the ground and gets upfield quickly.

“Has great contact balance and breaks arm tackles. Dangerous when working underneath and over the middle of the field. Caught 49 passes for 879 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior. Will need to continue adding polish to his game. Projects as a versatile X receiver with the ability to threaten all areas of the field.”

Top Defensive Commit: LB Nasir Wyatt

Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star linebacker Nasir Wyatt ranks No. 102 nationally and No. 12 among linebackers in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking.

Wyatt’s scouting summary:

“Linebacker prospect who is an enforcer off the edge for California high school powerhouse Mater Dei. Perennial backfield enthusiast who tallied 27.5 tackles-for-loss and 13 sacks during his sophomore season. Incredibly twitched up with excellent balance and body control. Can change direction in space with ease. Closes to ball carriers in a flash and is a very sound tackler. Size is that of a linebacker, skillset is that of an edge rusher. Has the long speed and ability to trigger to the ball in order to transition to a stand-up inside linebacker at the next level. Has the physical and athletic tools to make a seamless transition to off the ball.”
