will wear a blue jersey. Quite an honor. The only back to wear one before has been AD. Kind of hard for a running back to be a running back with no contact.

Bob said it was because the only way to tackle him is to go low, and he didn't want to see him have guys going after his legs the whole game. Maybe Bob didn't want the guys in his secondary getting beat up trying to tackle 32, either.

I would like to see all the skill position players protected this way during the spring game. They will face enough wear and tear in August and the regular season.

Why would Bob get beat up for protecting one of his key players from injury in a worthless Spring Game?

It is simple common sense. Perine has nothing to prove to the coaching staff. Perine is a proven commodity and he sure isn't going to be damaged by being held out of contact for this glorified scrimmage. Every coach takes extra precaution with their better players. Most of the other backs need the work more than Perine.

Perine is the center piece of OU's offense. His on-field presence opens up all areas of the offense. Him wearing a blue shirt during a spring scrimmage is not a controversial issue.

Ya I don't see why Bob would get beat up for doing this either. These kids will get plenty of contact during August getting ready for the season, so no need in putting them at risk for a spring game that will mean nothing, and will be a pretty vanilla version of what we will see in the fall anyways.

THIS: "Beat up"? Consider who it is that might be doing the "beating".

It's just smart.

IMO, Bob is more likely to get an 'Attaboy'...It's a Wise Decision... an Insurance Policy, in a Blue Shirt, if you will...

Do you have the answer for my music question v? If so, enlighten us on the "way, way ot thread...

And to stay on topic, Bob was correct in Blue-shirting the stars. We need an injury free year or two for a change.
