As expected, the Big 12 has come down on Baylor after former Sooner and current Baylor coach Jeff Lebby was seen on the TU sidelines last week in violation of NCAA rules. A public reprimand was handed down to Briles and Lebby has to sit out the first half of the OU game in November.

Whoop-do-freaking doo! But, all things considered, this is about the extent of the punishment that I was expecting, so you just gotta shrug your shoulders and move on.

I agree that the punishment isn't all that, what has occurred though is that Briles and Baylor was indeed condemned. This incident has drawn the eye of league officials, the NCAA, and the fans of CFB. They have been identified as someone to watch, someone to be cautious with. Someone that has the potential to cheat. The court of public opinion has been swayed. Going forward, if the will to cheat and/or be disingenuous continues, I see stiffer and harder penalties. They just cashed in a marker to the league, most likely their last one at that.

Baylor was taking a page out of New England patriots cheating guide book. Sorry New England fans.
