Charlie imitates John Blake yet again with a familiar name.

After ONE GAME, he changed the play calling OC.

The new play caller? Jay Norvell. Not making this up.

From what I saw, they were missing their best quarterback and, uh, it makes a difference. But Charlie knows best. Seriously.

I feel for Norvell...I bet he's swilling the liquid antacid tonight, maybe with a shot of Jack Daniels in it.
Poor bastid.

Did Blake also demote or fire the OC after the first game? I don't remember anything like that.

Why is Charlie like John Blake? Am I missing something?

Charlie has been a successful DC and a head coach prior to his hiring and it's not like he wasn't on every one's short list. John Blake was a position Coach that Barry got the job after a bad run. I don't see the correlation in the two.

john changed offenses three times in one season. Maybe four. But who could tell? The offense was not doing much He changed play callers slightly less frequently than quarterbacks. Thankfully I have forgotten details, but slightly remember a game or two into one of his three hc seasons, he spent the whole spring and preseason running one new offense, with public reasons why, and then changed a game or two into the new year.

I think Barry got ear access.

I remember this specifically because it was my freshman year and John Blake's first year as well.

I actually went to the student "pep assembly" for the upcoming season and listened to John Blake promote the return of the wishbone. Kelly Gregg was the other speaker I remember as he was a captain. I doubt they have pep assemblies like that anymore.
There were maybe 500 students in the stands.
It felt like high school football even before John Blake would prove it to be.
