Re-watched ARK game as I like pain. Too many young guys on DL. Could not contain edge, poor tackling and fooled by QB option handoff time and time again.

Smith Vilbert has a nice game but Amin Vanoner intrigues me most. He absolutely whiffed on QB sack but had a nice sack late. He is big, strong kid who can get moving quickly.

Not mentioned much but wondering if anyone heard about his progress? His recruiting offer list was off charts so talented kid.

"Vanover revealed the final ten schools on his list of potential commitments. The list consists of Alabama, Clemson, Penn State, Ohio State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Syracuse, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech.'

i asked a similar question recently but got no response from anyone...i agree he was a pretty good recruit, not elite but pretty good with legit upside...he's been kinda a tweener (DE/DT) so that might be hurting his progression some

Agree. He looked a little big in bowl game but strong. Probably needs to drop 10 and add muscle. Could be a beast

Unless one of the people who report on this site mentions him, nobody on the free board really knows what he is providing through fall camp. I'd say he's probably in line to back up Tarburton but does that mean 2/3/4 on the depth chart?

Smith Vilbert is another in the same boat, as well as Townley. Issac, Chop, and DDS are getting the pub, but Vilbert is coming into year 3. Strong performance vs Arkansas in the bowl.

It'll be interesting if we don't see one of the DEs portal out when the depth chart is released. I'd love to see them all stay because frankly we don't know for sure who can provide what.

Your comment scooted me off to 247 to check him out again. Fascinating to see the upper crustiest of CFB offer a 3 star under 90 grade prospect. Somebody knew something and it wasn't the scouting services lol.

And did I read this right... Vanover and Vilbert played together on same high school team?? (one year separation). That must have sucked for opposing offenses lol.
