Vasek was the defensive MVP of the state championship game, when Westlake beat Denton Guyer, and their quarterback, Jackson Arnold. Vasek had three sacks.

The "smart money" was on Vasek going to his hometown Longhorns or maybe Oregon, but apparently, the visit to Norman this weekend was the swing vote. His commitment moves OU up to number 7 in Rivals rankings. We're still 6th in 247.

I believe his dad played for Texas in the early 90s. Colton has a younger brother, Connor that is a defensive edge also. 6'4" @ 205 lbs. Class of 2025. This is almost a miracle recruit grab before this weekend.

Yep, we overcame that he's a Longhorn legacy and that he's at a high school that has been a UT pipeline for three decades. I just have a little tiny qualm about this. You know a silent commit elsewhere, that changes at the last minute to his expected school, just to screw his biggest rival. Likely not. But his sig will be the most interesting one on signing day for me.

I think his instant connection with Miguel Chavis is undeniable. I don't think there is anything underhanded happening here. I heard that Vasek called his dad and said he would commit today after sitting with Chavis this weekend.
