Does OU hire the next DL as Co-DC?

This is a strange situation for Bob imho as many view Mike Stoops as a hurdle to any future promotion at OU.

Potential DL coaches that may be interested in a Co-DC:

Chris Wilson - DL coach at USC

Tosh Lupoi - LB coach at Bama, was a longtime DL coach at Cal and UW.

Chris Kiffin - DL coach at Mississippi

or just pony up and throw more cash at Jerry Montgomery.

Just throwing a name out there, he is under the radar, but has done a great job teaching players to get after the qb.

If this Chris Wilson is the same guy who has been developing all the NFL-bound D-linemen from USC, then he's definitely at the top of my list. The Trojans have had some outstanding players anchoring their D-line the last few years.

That would simply be inviting trouble on the campus.

I bet Jerry wants to get away from Mike Stoops. We need to hire a guy that will be "a coach in waiting"

Eh, the NCAA pretty much put the kibosh on the 'Coach in waiting' deal.

Im sure Mike didn't want to give up his (any) coaching duties, and Jerry knew they would butt heads at some point during the season. Don't think any experienced DL guys will want to work with Mike. Thibadeaux who played for OU may be the best choice, Im sure he respects the Stoops bothers and the University of Oklahoma to come in and work his tail off. IMHO

Coe, and anyone else..... With out proof that Jerry knew he would bump heads with Mike, without proof Jerry left because he didn't like that Mike wasn't fired. Is assumptions and against board rules. Now if you can provide links backing these statements up go for it. Pryorfan you have been around a long time and know better.
