Doesn't seem like there are many options for '23 QB

Unsurprisingly at this late stage in the cycle, things are pretty thin. Ironically, 2 of our 3 offers were to Lonergan and Holstein, both of whom are now Bama commits. The other QB we've offered is 3* Carson Black who is a Memphis commit (only other P5 offer was VaTech). LaNorriss Sellers from Florence is out there, though he's currently a Syracuse commit. At this point, we'll be taking somebody just to take somebody. Safe to say that QB for the '23 class was Lonergan or bust.

No need to pull the trigger on someone USC doesn’t like. The secondary market on QB’s because of the portal is robust.

Other reports have the Reno family considering reclassifying Dante to the 2023 class.
Yeah, good point. I saw that, but didn't think about when starting this thread. That would help ease the pain. He's not as highly rated as Lonergan, but much higher than anyone else we could get in the 2023 class.

See Rattler - no worries
No doubt a great addition, in which we caught all the breaks, Rattler demoted, his OC now becomes our HC.
Catching lightning in a bottle rarely happens twice.
The staff will have to diligent of the transfer board updates, keep up on the chatter, and keep tabs on all former recruits who committed elsewhere. Not easy, but not impossible.

I think they are on top of it and the early transfer portal success opened their eyes to the potential. Really haven't seen this staff coasting on any aspect of the job and we've seen that happen to even coaches like Spurrier.
