They say it is 3 Billion barrels of oil. Just to put that in to perspective with Saudi production, that would be about 300 days worth there.

I think this would be the third largest oil field, in terms of reserves, in the United States. that's nothing to sneeze at.

The Permian Basin is one of the cheapest places on Earth to drill. Lots of infrastructure to move the oil to market. Pioneer Natural Resources has rebounded nicely also. Yeah baby!!!

That may just be the final dagger to the coal mines.

You know the ones Mitch is going to bring back.

And somehow it will be Obamas fault

When the administration says they are going to shutdown coal, and then in fact do shut down coal it tends to make people think that same administration is at fault.

http://dailycaller.com/2015/02/06/coal-industry-sheds-tens-of-thousands-of-jobs-under-obama/

Facts are so annoying. Hard to find an article that doesn't show how Obama has crippled the coal industry...even from liberal media sites.

I'll save the rest for the political forum where it belongs.
Coal jobs have been declining since the 90s. The natural gas discoveries have hastened it as power plants turn to cleaner and cheaper alternatives.

I guess you think that low pollution easy to find natural gas plays no part.

So what you're saying is Obama has failed?

“If somebody wants to build a coal-fired power plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them,” Obama said

The politicians won't like this but natural gas has always burned cleaner than coal but it's never been cheaper for this long. What makes it cheaper is the vast reserves literally under our feet. In short, the economics of cleaner natural gas has basically buried the regulatory aspects of dirtier coal. Any utility generating electricity will tell you the same story.

He and Hillary have been killing it for a while now. Way to shift the blame. Obama1 has taught you well.

I lost MY job in the mines because our local power co is using natural gas.
Had nothing to do with Obama, he didn't make natural gas cheap.
He and Hillary openly admitted to making coal use one of their targets to be hit in favor of alternative energy. Bury your head if you want.

Natural Gas isn't cheaper than coal. I work in a natural Gas power plant. I see the prices per mega watt every day. Combined Cycle gas plants have gotten to about the same price as coal.
What gets Coal plants is the regulatory standards have changed. Old plants used to fall under a different standard than new ones.
Routine maintenance work that has to be done to boilers is now considered a new plant, so they now fall under a the same blanket as new plants.

LOL
You sound like Mitch.
Next you will say it's cleaner too.

Coal is dead. RIP

It isn't cheaper, fact of the matter is Govt regulations have choked it off, just as Obama said he would do.

My advice to you is to buy stock in Coal right now while it's cheap. Too much energy and too much of it sitting right under us to not be used.

Did I say only coal companies hurt laborers? I'm an anarchist man. Anarcho-syndaclist in this arena. When are you ever going to figure it out? Such a feeble mind.

No, you are a lemming trying to convince people otherwise. But, it always comes back to the same old thing with you. Such a lock stepping follower you are.

Hahahaha yep. That's me. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything. You're just too dumb to think outside of red and blue. Such a simpleton.
