Game Day Parking

WVU fan here that will be attending the game this weekend. My question is where are the best places to park that don't require a parking pass? I'm somewhat familiar with the area (I live in Edmond), just have never attended a game in Norman before. I know that free parking is available at the Lloyd Noble Center, but I would prefer to be a little closer to the stadium even if I have to pay to park.

Looking forward to the game on Saturday!

Everyone has their own routine, but here's one suggestion. I've been doing this for decades and it is lots of fun. It will require a bit of a walk (1/3 to 1/2 mile), but is very pleasant. You'll also get out faster, walking past the traffic jam vs. sitting in traffic.

You can park for free in the business lots in the area of Main St. and University Blvd. Make sure it is a closed business such as the bank. Or if you turn south (actually SE) on University Blvd, you'll immediately see $10 parking which quickly becomes $20 parking by the time you get to McFarlin Methodist Church.

Once you park, follow the crowd (and the noise) one block over (east to Asp & Boyd St.) to Campus Corner for a great pre-game experience. You'll see the campus across the street. Keep following the crowd going south to the stadium.

A great tip for a whiz stop: The building across Asp and Boyd St to your left is the engineering building. The building is unlocked. Walk down the hall to the spiral staircase. Mens room is at the bottom of the stairs. It is OK to use the restrooms in that building.

Good luck finding something very close to the stadium. It costs $1000 per year just to be on the waiting list.

Thanks Section22Sooner! I've already mapped out a route based on your advice. Since I'll be driving in from North Edmond, I was thinking about leaving around 7:30 in the morning. Do you think this will allow enough time to park and check out the tailgate scene before the game?

I've heard nothing but Great things about the game-day atmosphere in Norman. Looking forward to the game tomorrow!

Thanks again!

I got this 22.

Yes!
And you will have change left over. It's not a big sprawling metropolis really.
