Tulsa may not be good enough to take advantage of their best chance to beat OU since Paul Smith. Or maybe John Blake. But they will never have a better opportunity.

BTW, I saw Tulsa's first game. If we don't run them off the field we shouldn't even be talking final four, let alone conference championship.

Darlington might be back for the first conference game. He hurt a leg pretty good in the first OT, but with the adrenaline, played through it. The next day is always the worst.

Actually, what they had mentioned is Jonathan Alvarez would slide over and play Center until Darlington returned...I didn't hear Wren's name mentioned. Take that for what it's worth...

I really believe teams are ripe for an upset, when they start thinking about having to avoid an upset. All they need to think and worry about is playing football. Period. Once they start thinking about avoiding upsets, going undefeated, the final four, etc. is when a team starts to play tight and anxious, which leads to it affecting their performance and they end up losing a game they should have won.

It's not about worry,. It's about taking care of your business with attention to detail and mental effort in practice all week. Any great or even good coach will tell you that you don't get ready for a game starting on Saturday morning. You get ready for a game with how you prepare starting on Monday before the first practice of the week.

Bud used to say that it's about having the will to prepare.

You men have the inclination to get a little full of themselves, based on their last performance. And if they look at last week with the wrong point of view, they'll be very vulnerable. The defense was terrific,, but they still have lots of improving to do. And the O has some real issues, and even more if they're going to miss a guy or two on Saturday.

Each team has a routine, and it's easy to take things for granted when you play somebody with a sizable point spread and you're the favorite. Coaches can do a lot of things short of shooting somebody as an example, to change the attitudes. Sometimes players don't get it until it's too late.

If there is a "trap game" it's West Virginia. That team is loaded with experienced redshirt juniors and seniors. They are going to surprise someone this year and worry way more about them than Tulsa.....

K2C - West Virginia is going to beat TCU or Baylor...not OU. It will be my first attendance game this year....I, alone will be up around 100 d in noise strength.
