I'll probably catch hell from this from the far right orangebloods...

The events over the last week aren't a reflection of your university and it isn't fair a racist label gets stuck on OU if that happens. The irony is just like a good portion of your football team, one kid was from Texas.

The fact of the matter is that when you have rich, sheltered spoiled white kids in frats, stupid crap like this happens. Unfortunately, racism is alive and well as long as we have complete douche bags like this in society. These young people aren't sorry at all for their actions, they're only sorry they got caught. To try and say "we were taught these words" and blame it on the frat house grand poobaahs is a bullcrap. The gleefulness of their chant is something that a simple statement won't erase.

I give a lot of credit to Boren and his swift actions, history will judge him kindly for this. I also applaud the black students of OU, several times I've heard them say in news interviews that they don't feel the racist students should be expelled, but this is a teachable moment. I personally wanted them gone from the university, that they need to suffer the consequences of their narrow mindedness...maybe they're right, maybe showing them some humanity is what they really need.

UT has had similar issues with frats and racism. A number of months back, one frat had an illegal immigration themed party that featured Mexican overtones. In 2004, a statue of MLK was vandalized....so if any UT fan comes over here to throw stones, well they are on the top floor of a glass house.

I hope UT kicks your arse in 9 months....but even more I hope that we can kick the arse of racism in our schools and society.

kewl. Very well played. I've seen a few of your posts here and on OB in the past and you are a rock-solid poster. You are welcome here anytime. And I'm looking forward to OU kicking some burnt orange butt on the second Saturday in October!

Until then, best of luck to you and your Horns.

Yes, I mean all racism....like MLK said, be judged on the content of character, not skin color.

My avatar is a musician named Remmy Ongala of Tanzania who railed against corruption and was for the poor and downtrodden. The people loved him and his music.....he's not a rapper or gangster....just one of my most favorite musicians of all time. I posted a documentary on my youtube account about him called Bongo Beat. Look it up if you have a chance...

Well, we aren't so fragile and delicate that we can't take some shots...as long as they're proportional.

What we don't need, along with the shame and tumult this has brought to this great state we live in, is an unwarranted side order of guilt.

That pisses me off as much as the bad actors that caused this crap in the first place.

Go to OB and post this if you really feel like this. They are throwing stones as I type but yet have the nerve to ban/blacklist every sooner poster that could provide any reasonable defense or rebuttal. Nothing but a bunch of whiny, cry babying, Bevo cocksucking Nancy's over there.
