He’s eligible this year and is finally starting to look like the back he was projected to be. Long way to go of course, but if he continues to run well, I wonder if he’d take a stab at the draft, given the general short shelf life of RBs.
He loves SC so it will be interestin.Depends on the grade the predictors give him.
That's the way the mop flops. It would suck if, the season he finally comes into form is the year he's eligible for the draft.
Yeah, I certainly understand that aspect. It’s just unfortunate that he basically lost 2 seasons to injury. So we only get one season of him at full strength.I always understand why running backs come out early. Life in the NLF for runningbacks is so short.
It never fails! Every year whenever one of our players has a monster game, our fans have him going to the NFL. Tori Gurley, Ace Sanders, Kevin Harris, you name it. Why do our fans plant the seed, people jump on the bandwagon and then they are gone? Most, not all, of them probably wish they had played one more year.
This is a different situation. He's in a pretty rare situation of completely missing his first season due to injury and basically lost last season because he wasn't 100%. He's finally full strength and running well, but it happens to be his 3rd year, which means he's draft eligible. RBs have a short shelf-life in the NFL and he's already been injured once. Considering those factors, if he gets a good draft grade, I suspect he would bolt. I hope not. I'm not in favor of guys going pro early, but it is what it is. If he had played the last 2 years and did not play well and was finally playing well, I think it'd be a different story.
Wheni read the thread, I had to go look it up, I thought surely this was only his second year. I know he missed that first year, but last year was the forgotten year for me.
But I agree with your reasoning on leaving early. Running backs in particular have a short shelf life in the NFL.
Yeah, it's a shame. It's not like he was a bust early on and is finally playing well. He just had two years taken away. I don't want him to go pro early, but I want him to keep running well, but if he keeps running well, he's probably gonna go pro.
His performance at the combines will have more impact. I would think he has shown enough this year to be invited to the combines.Definitely something I have thought of as well. I think he needs a little more time than just a 12 games stretch to show that he is that ready for the NFL. Also, if he does do enough to give himself a boost in stock, would be interesting to see how he approaches it. I can't see him getting anywhere north of the 4th round unless he has a heisman-esque second half. In that case, how much does he make in NIL? $660K is the minimum salary in NFL so that's likely what he would get in the 4th round or later. If he can make a few hundred K via NIL, I think it would be enough to keep him for another year to try to boost his draft stock.
Well you can't participate in the combine and return to college football, so that will have no weight on whether he decides to go pro or not.His performance at the combines will have more impact. I would think he has shown enough this year to be invited to the combines.

I don't think they make their decision to leave early based on what fans say,if they do then they are in need of some guidanceIt never fails! What can you do with a psychology degree though?Lloyd is a psychology major with 3.59 gpa. Well done, young man.
Any number of things. Counseling, social work, and HR jump to mind. What can you do with a psychology degree though?
I don't think so but it's up to him and his family. The ones who have supported him not a bunch of geezers behind a keyboard. With that said just an opinion. Big mistake. He and Rattler need another year to prove their worth. RB are a dime a dozen and it's a roll of the dice for rb with better credentials than this young man.
