You said you love the funding model for Jeffrey Field but the text says you voted ‘nay’ - typo?

My kids’ school is hoping to break ground on a new middle school next summer but want 80% of funds in hand. They just built a $90mm athletics facility that was all privately funded. Seems like it’s best to have the money now instead of hoping to have it later….
I loved the funding process for the FIELD HOCKEY project last year (not the Jeffrey Field project). I may have written that in a way that was confusing.

I do, FWIW, very much like the idea of the Jeffrey Field project as well (would be #1 on my personal "ICA Projects Wishlist").
New game day facilities (hell, not really "new", just "any") for the 2 soccer teams are way overdue. But, as I pointed out at the meeting, "funding" a $20 million price tag with debt was not the way to go - and I did not agree with the parameters of the project (but that's a whole 'nother ball game).

This is spot on, bravo sir

“Raising funds is never easy. But contacting potential donors and telling them ‘We need to take on this project and we need your generous support to accomplish it’ is a different dynamic.

“This is opposed to the current Penn State way where we take on debt, build a facility, and when a potential donor asks ‘Why should I write you a check?’, we reply ‘Well, we built a facility, and need your money to pay off the mortgage.’
