any word on his recovery?

he was a major cog in the D so would be great to get him back.

we have no backup like him. Brevard is closest but he must really be lacking.

given the new OL, any viable candidates who could move? if we have a backup OL who would better option why not use them?

We won't know anything about PJ until summer camp at the earliest. Injury info doesn't leak. He likely doesn't participate in BW game even if healthy.

Unless he gets a shout out for winter sessions, he might not be lifting very much either.

Our depth should be a year older, year stronger, but nobody appears to be a stud just yet. Perhaps we mine the portal after the next round of transfers begin for one DT. Big development year right here. Izzard, Ellies, Vanover, somebody has to take the next step.

who has a PJ body? some on OL seem closer.

portal makes sense.

in a small community like SC, how do you keep secrets? PJ is not anonymous. people will see if he works out and how he gets around. they will know if he had surgery. PJ is probably more famous than local political figures. my brother lives in CBus and OSU players have hard time keeping injuries secret. both Bama WRs had ACL and we knew before we knew about their NFL intent. I realize HIPAA implications may be part of this, in terms of info release,

This has been an issue for a long time. There are precious few defensive linemen that have the lower body size and strength to be a force as an interior lineman. Mustipher qualifies and I’m not sure we have anyone else currently in our locker room. I do think we need an impactful one technique D lineman and an edge rusher in the portal.

Without looking at the roster, Ellies or Izzard could be built into a true big 1 this off season. The issue is, the decision needs to have been made already and you gotta roll with it before summer camp running pulls weight off our DL.

You look at Bama and UGA, they go after these types of kids out of HS and strengthen them up. They don't worry about body fat quite as much as we seem to (or they are just recruiting better athletes at the position or juice em up a la Ostarine).

I don't think we have any line swap candidates either. The success rate just isn't enough.
