I've never really been a pre-season rankings guy. Having said this, the pre-season ranking of #19 is the lowest ranking the Sooners have had since 2000. I don't think it bodes well for the good guys if they maintain this ranking much less regress and fall further. I believe it is imperative that the Sooners inch higher to at least a Top 12 to 15 finish.

After the way OU limped home to end the season and then got spanked by Clemson, starting out 19th sounds about right and may even be a little generous.
Yep, the boys will have their work cut out for them. I hope the suspect defense can be overcome with good offense, or vice versa.

Can't argue with this statement. If OU wants a higher ranking or more respect nationally by pollsters, then this is the season they need to get on the field and earn it.
Oddly, it seems like they've always seemed to play better as the Underdog. So we shall soon see how it all plays out.

They will have to show me some more pic 6's and DB's playing way off the WR's before I believe they aren't better than a 19th ranking.
2000 we were in the second year of a new offense with a SR QB that had played a lot of games including having TU and ND beaten until the defense faded. If this OU team can end up in the 15-20 spot at the end of the year after all the new issues and last year's bad memories, I will consider it a successful season. 8-9 wins tops is my barometer. 6 or less and BS will have some serious issues in JAN. WS
You do realize we were only 7 points within 10 wins last year? Baylor and Clemson owned our butt. All of the other loses were very winnable. It's a new year, new coaches and a new Q-B. I think you will be very surprised how this season goes.............
Yes but we couldn't get it done so it doesn't matter how close some of those games were. We are most likely looking at an 8 - 4ish type of season
