So he’s jumping ship before they go to the SEC. He sees the guaranteed 0 or 1 loss seasons most years disappearing with the switch and is likely looking for a similar set up in the PAC 12.
Stoops back to Norman.
Which one?
Good move for the KY one , Mo money Mo prestige, already knows the SECWhich one?
Norman, Oklahoma. Duh!
So are the OU boards doing a cost analysis of living in SoCal vs Norman?
So many people on this board and the old McAndrew Board underestimate the allure of the USC job. It's an attractive job.Someone else kept saying coaches don’t leave one big program for another. Welp.

But anytime a coach leaves - aren’t there always extenuating circumstances? Whether it be money a better opportunity or that he feels he has done all he can at one place?I've said that. Jimbo Fisher going to aTm from FSU had extenuating circumstances. If Riley makes the leap, this will be the first. I'd be interested in the rea$on$, though they may become obviou$.
Heupel or Cale GundySo who would be a good replacement at OU?
Fickell?
O’Brien?
Urban Meyer?
The DC from Clemson?
Ryan Day?
Josh Heupel?
I guess extenuating circumstances can be both positive and negative. In Jimbo's case they were negative. But anytime a coach leaves - aren’t there always extenuating circumstances? Whether it be money a better opportunity or that he feels he has done all he can at one place?
You mean they didn't get Franklin? I'm shocked, he was 11-10 in B10 last 2 seasons and 0 playoff appearances. ShockedWow if true. LSU fans are probably not happy right now.
Heupel please. For obvious reasonsSo who would be a good replacement at OU?

I agree. He is prob making more even with the cost of living adjustments. I guess we will find out. I think it was a very smart decision by him but I’m not a Sooners fan so I don’t really have an emotional reaction to it.It's worth a pay cut today to move into a better situation and maintain a high level career longer than to go into the SEC and 8-4 becomes a great season.
Riley likely got a pay raise.
We also look at this much different than we did with JF.
Lol.... post of.the year!
Stability can be negativity and might be in our situation. I found myself sort of wishing he was poached before the contract extension. For all the negativity here, at least we have stability. Franklin is going nowhere.
USC is absolutely one of the top CFB jobs. This just proves it. OU has a Nebraska-like future waiting in the SEC.Someone else kept saying coaches don’t leave one big program for another. Welp.
