Agree there Plaino...about typical for the puffed up Baylor who for him to play hurt.

When more and more people have been considering Baylor as the best of the batch, this injury news is exactly what they didn't want to hear.

I wish the best for Russell's full recovery and return to action.

Sounds serious and pray for recovery for Seth but can anyone share light on whether this means he will miss the OU game in 3 weeks?

They said that the injury was to a bone in his neck. I'm assuming that ir it were a vertebrae, they would have specified that. If it were part of the spinal cord, I cannot imagine his playing against this season. I don't really know what bones there are besides that, but it was the kind of hit that leads to serious neck injuries, glancing for the top of the lowered head at an angle, but at least a little knocking the head toward the backbone.

The news release said that he'll see a specialist for testing on Monday. I think that usually, they don't want to diagnose anything until the swelling goes down.

I don't care what team the kid plays for, or what coach he plays for....never want to see a kid with an injury like this. Nothing about this makes me feel less sad, or think it's karma. It's a huge help for OU later in the season if Russell is still unable to play when OU goes to Waco, but I don't take any joy or relish that this happened to a kid. It's a friggen sport. Hopefully the kid can continue his career at some point. Would hate it be serious enough to have to give up playing football, or worse to have it affect him the rest of his life. Neck/spinal injuries are just damn frightening to me....

I agree BR. You never want to see any kid get hurt regardless of who they play for or who their coach might be. Personally, I'd rather play them when they are at full strength.

Especially when this type of thing could affect his future. On a side note the board is sloooooow tonight.

Lol, usually I would be completely on board with this thinkingBW. I've always believed in competition that you want to beat your opponent when they are at their best. But for some reason right now I'm breathing a bit of a sigh of relief that OU just got a little breathing room in that game.

A little, maybe. Even with their back up QB in, today, they'd still be a touchdown favorite against us on their home field.

I heard on the radio they said Baylor is now having to play a true freshman? I'm not that familiar with Baylor's QB depth to even know the name of the backup. If he is a freshman then we can hope OU can bring enough pressure on defense to keep him on his heels being so green.

You'd have to be some sub human dolt if you did...however if it enhances your chances in the spirit of sportsmanship, that's just lady luck and pure fate...

Two things that are mutually exclusive, I'll take it.:cool:

Freshman QB should begin to feel the pressures and turn ball over. Even with Baylors solid offensive line...he will be facing the gauntlet. Time to watch Baylor deal with adversity and watch them struggle. The Baylor defense is nothing special.

At the distinct risk of sounding ghoulish...what better thing could OU dial up?
It's the little nuances in CFB that become the story lines in the end...

Again, sorry this Seth guy got hurt like that...likewise, I'm sorry our Zac got hurt too.
