Sheetz currently selling gas in Western Pa for $ .30 cents a gallon more than WaWa in eastern Pa.

Sheetz has high gas prices and crappy food.

Nice Bathrooms Though.
I always thought Philly gas was cheapest in the state (?).

Seems to be individually store driven as I've seen both Wawa and Sheetz have nice stores with similar gas prices and good food and stores that are awful in the cleanliness and food. Can not comment about either in Western Pa but know of both types of stores in central and eastern Pa, central and eastern MD, and Wawa in Delaware and NJ and have seen both ends of the spectrum in each area

I always heard the stations closest to the refineries had the cheapest gas which makes sense that Philly gas is lowest in state and why WaWa would have cheaper prices then Sheetz. I know in the Hamburg area on 61 I think, there is a Sheetz south of I-78 and then a Wawa north of I-78. I wonder what the diff in gas prices are between those 2 stations.

Seems like a regional issue more than a store issue. Used to work in the convenience store industry and Sheetz was always very highly regarded at NACS. And family owned. Always fun to see what Wawa copies next!

NEPA… there is a Sheetz… $3.39 a gallon. Across the highway, a pitching wedge away…$3.09. And every stall at Sheetz is filled. But people complain about prices. BTW… Sheetz gas sucks

Sorry - Sheetz is always at or near bottom for gas - it’s their entire business model and the reason for self-branding. If this is true a $.30 difference must be for a reason.

Sheetz dominates the pumps in western Pa. And seems to have less competition. Just my point of view. way more pumps in congested eastern Pennsylvania and more competition for WaWa

I live near where they where the Sheetz is going in - there are 4 WAWA's within 3 miles of me - 2 of them are new - total saturation.

In NEPA, Sheetz has the highest gas prices by far. I refuse to purchase anything from that place….

Cheapest gas gets less mileage.
And it’s bad for your engine. It lacks the detergents to keep the injectors clean. You really should use a top tier fuel from the list:

Liquid is cheaper than metal. Cars are expensive. Take care of them and they will last.

I never had a car (on my 3rd) with less than 250k miles on it when I was done with it. Never cared what gas I put into it. Always traded or sold the cars when they rusted out and could not pass inspection. The engine wear was never an issue.

As if keeping my injectors clean is going to help.

Wawa built one in Middletown last year, directly across from a Sheetz that had been there for more than 5 years

On my 3rd Tacoma…. Put 250k plus on my first 2…. Never did a thing but make sure I changed oil on time… had to replace windshield wiper motor once, only issue I have ever had
I had a Tacoma too. Loved that truck….frame rusted out at 77,000 miles. Had to get rid of it.
Routine oil changes fall under my premise of fluids are cheaper than metal.

I live off of exit 41 in North Carolina. About 2 years ago, they built a Sheetz on the E side of 95 at the exit. Guess what they just started building about 4 months ago on the W side of 95??

Wawa

They also did it on Raeford Rd by the All American Freeway. Sheetz just went up and opened a month ago on the E side, Wawa is current under construction on the W side

It’s the Rite Aid vs CVS approach. Can’t have 1 on a street corner without the other. ;)

I think it's more than just those. I recall Home Depot and Lowe's doing a lot of this in the late 90s. Maybe not right across the street, but not far away.

Commenting on another topic which you know nothing about.

LOL. This is an old topic that has been discussed to death for years. Sheetz introduced MTOs and screen ordering years before Wawa did the same. They invented ‘destination’ super gas stations and bailed on stores without gas. They’re massive innovators in the CS space - Wawa not so much. Now, ignore for you.

Sheetz copied touch screen from Arby's.
