”UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — While the Penn State Berkey Creamery has been famous for its ice cream for decades, it is now gaining national recognition for other dairy products, as well.

At this year’s World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Product Contest, the creamery earned two first-place awards for its butter pecan ice cream and black raspberry frozen yogurt. It also brought home a third-place trophy in the sharp cheddar category. Last year — the creamery’s first time entering the contest — it won first place for its chocolate milk.”

Visited for the first time this past Friday. Had ice cream for the first time in 18 months. It was delicious. Should have gotten some chocolate milk as well I guess (and immediate access to the bathroom with my lactose intolerance).

Pfft. 3rd place participation trophy for sharp cheddar?!?! Come on! Why are the best 4H Club Members going out of state to produce the best sharp cheddar?! We need a couple of fresh coaches to be added here - one for cheddar, one for sharpness. If we want to compete with the best cow colleges, we gotta get down and dirty in the cow pastures with the best of them. NIL opportunities for cheddar are needed - donate now!

As for the 1st places - as expected. We own chocolate milk, like we own wrestling. BP ice cream? It's the mens' volleyball of ice cream. Black Raspberry YOGURT? Club sport. Wake me when it's BR ice cream.
But, better maintain all those rankings, too. Let's not get complacent.

the chocolate milk from Guers dairy is the best I've ever had!!! its local if you are in Schuylkill Co.

In September 2008, Guers Chocolate milk was awarded the World Dairy Expo championship contest which was sponsored by the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association.
