I promised my wife when we got put of debt I would take her to the best steak in town. Well today I'm officially out of debt with my last mortgage payment on a rent house. I'm looking for a place that has huge fillets and my wife loves lobster. The best steaks I ever ate were in Chicago. Namely Harry Careys.

I think there is a good one on 81st and Yale and I think the name is Maloneys?

Where's bullmarket when I need him...................

Mickey Mantle's is a good steak house in OKC, In Tulsa I like Jamil's. If you haven't had Jamils it's a Lebanese steakhouse which isn't typical of your current steakhouse but really good.

In Tulsa, there are several. Flemings, Mahogany, and The Polo Grill are all very good. Mahogany Prime Steak House is on S. Yale and just north of 71st Sreet next to Charleston's Restaurant. Flemings and the Polo Grill are in Utica Square on 21st Street. These will give the best choice for steak and lobster, IMO. Another excellent steak house in Tulsa is the Pryme Steak House .......pronounced like Prime.....downtown Tulsa.

Congratulations. Feels good doesn't it.

Jamil`s has great steaks, and the tabouli, house salad, stuffed cabbage , bbq ribs and bologna leading up to the entree are crazy good.

Growing up in Tulsa, whenever Dad felt like celebrating with a nice family dinner, it was either Jamil's or Eddie's Steak House. I think he said they were brothers, but both were/are outstanding.

I was gonna say Jamil's too but did not want to be accused of being provincial by anyone in any sense of the word.

If you're ever in the Texoma area, you should swing into Sanfords in Kingston.

They barely turn the lights on and the drinks are overpriced, but you won't find a better ribeye or filet.

Freddie's in Mannford is of the same type of Lebanese steakhouse, but has better steak in my opinion. Disregard that I've known the family for years as any sort of bias.

Don't forget about the lobster part of the deal. Narrows down the list for sure.

Yo, K2C...

FWIW, there is a kind of a new kid in town called BlueStone creating quite a buzz in the metro here.

I haven't been there yet but it's on the list. The book on them is superb food and dotingly good service.

Yes, they do have your steak and Maine rock lobster.

If interested, they're at 10032 S. Sheridan, Tulsa.

Bon appetite!

I will vouch for the Bluestone. It is our favorite and only 2 miles from the house. We have been going there since it opened several years ago and I've even had our company's holiday dinners there a couple of times. Steve sold the restaurant about a year ago, and the new owners have made it even better. It's a regulars type restaurant......they even take reservations for the bar. Nice wine, great steaks, excellent service and live music two or three days a week. Don't let the curb appeal fool you....come in and enjoy.

P.S. I can't vouch for the lobster, but the shrimp is excellent.
