I know it's still early in the season, but with this win we should move up. Notre Dame and Auburn should not be ahead of this week. Both of them had very poor showings and almost lost. It's time. Our easy schedule starts the next few weeks, so we won't be getting any love for beating teams were are supposed too. I hope we get a huge jump..................

My edit: After I read what I posted I just realized I was repeating what I heard from some pundits about the ease of the schedule. In no way do I think any team is a push over and any team on our schedule could upset us. Well, most anyway...lol

Agree BillyRay....and in this age of parity, it doesn't seem to matter how a team wins as long as it wins....even if some of those wins are "ugly".

Heck ya CT. And as told some Auburn fans yesterday....an ugly win is better than an ugly loss!!! Lol :D

But I'm not gonna worry about polls or rankings. OU just needs to win, and everything else will work itself out. So whether OU is ranked #25 or #1, the season is still gonna keep going, and OU needs to just keep winning. Big games loom for OU down the road.

I like being in the mid-teens. Keeps the troops hungry. The time to jump is late in the season, not early, IMO. This appears to be a good team, but not a playoff...yet. Time will tell.

Correction, it doesn't matter if the SEC wins ugly, they won't be affected. Any other teams win ugly, they find ways to move the SEC up. That's been the history of the polls the last 3/4 of a decade or so.

I guess Auburn doesn't get this kind of protection. lol ;)

I haven't even looked at the new polls, but historically they've been just as immune. Someone posted a graph last year of SEC top 25 losses and their poll drops vs others and over the past decade it was significant. I believe it was even on this board.

What the Big 12 and a few other P5 conferences should be worried about is the B1G getting two teams in the f4. MSU and OSU just might be the first to do just that and I'm not sure they don't deserve it. We have a long season, but if that happened, someone from the SEC, B12,ACC,Pac10 and ND will get left out. Can you say eight team playoff if that happens?

We had a very poor showing for over three quarters and almost lost as well. I'm ok with where we are currently.

For my part, the lower they rank us the better I like it. Once we got up to #4 last year it was as if the team actually believed that ranking and stopped trying to "earn" their upcoming victories - some of which never happened as a result!
Keep us down in the polls as long as possible - make Baylor and TCU have to face the week-in and week-out "best shot" that other teams bring to Top 10 schools!

Yeah, it's no secret and several of the players admitted that they gave up, IE took a dive last year in those, (BU and Clemson) that got away from them...I hate that.

Last year, TCU had been a creampuff the season before so they didn't have people gunning for them like they will this year, which made it easier. They have already seen that when they are ranked as a Top 10 team, the opposition plays harder. Same for Baylor, but they now have more experience with it. Even in the Blake years, we are always "Oklahoma" so teams will always be "up" for OUr games!
