Pretty amazing the last time we were #1 was with the run and gun Billy Tubbs era! Gonna be tough to stay there some serious games upcoming on the schedule. But until then I'll enjoy every moment of it. Life is good being a Sooner!

I could go see the Sooners play at the Hilton tonight but I don't have $300 to spare & it's gonna be damn cold in Ames anyway...

One of my neighbors is a wealthy Clone businessman. He used to load up one of his kids, me and a couple of mine and we had free seats in the Blake Griffin era. None to be had this year; another sign of the times...

This is the year for us to go as far as we can for a bit as we lose quite a bit. Having said that, we do have some good young players not only on the bench but coming in. I really hate to be a Debby Downer, but I don't see them winning at Hilton (I will come back and apologize for that one :)). That is one tough place to play...Cousins will have to hit more shots...Buddy will need to quit throwing the ball into no mans land.

It's nice while we have it (the #1 ranking) but I wonder how many of the teams below us would skin us alive. Several, for sure.

You pick which ones.

Tough to win on the home floors of about 3-4 teams in the Big 12...still believe in our chances at the Big 12 and NCAA tourney to make very deep runs...

Never seen a team hit threes like they were layups... Oklahoma is a final 4 team this year. Just hope my clones stop being so bipolar.

I think our chances are slim to win the big 12 with the loss to baylor and texas (smh)... Go grab it sooners... No more Jayhawks

OU is still #1 and could be next week. Other teams are losing as well, and OU only has two losses. I don't see any one loss teams out there...

There is only one Oklahoma

Good Point, PLS! HOWEVER, and isn't there always a However, a #3-4-5 can lose and still stay a #3-4-5, but a #1 can lose and they plummet to a #9-10. Hope it works out in YOUR Scenario, rather than mine...

The Struggle is Real...

We were a #2 and lost to Kansas and remained a #2.

I doubt it happens again, but if we beat Baylor Saturday you'd have to think it's not impossible. Especially if others right below us fall.

But really, it means nothing at this point. All it really does right now is acknowledge that the rest of the basketball community thinks we're pretty darn good. If we don't finish the regular season ranked #1, it's not a season ender. We still have a tournament to play in, and that #1 ranking at the end of it is the one people are going to remember.

Not my original thoughts, but a friend of mine put this out there:

At the end of the season the top 4 in B12 will be KU, OU, WVA, ISU. We are 4 and 2 in league...and have played 3 of the top 4 teams in 4 of the first 6 games. And most unmercifully we have played two big Mondays on the road after a home win against the top 4 - and WVU has to be the most physically taxing team to play in the league.

So we've played some pretty tough competition already. We have a road game against WVU, and a home game against Kansas. Baylor still looms for two games, as does Texas. And we still get to play LSU and Ben Simmons, one of the best kids in the nation.

Our RPI will be off the charts at the end of the season.
