What did you guy's think about the wildcat?

It looks like a gimmick to me. It makes me worry that it is a fumble waiting to happen.
Nah, I want them to use everything that's practical.
Wildcat, housecat, cat scratch fever.
Sleight of hand, fakes, and smoke and mirrors.
Prestidigitation if you will.
I want us to do anything that will increase our advantage, even a little.
Boise State kicked our *** doing that so called bush league stuff so, what's good for them...
In other words, we shouldn't be so proud not to trick it up a little, in light of our O-line being a little under experienced.

Loved it. Bob implied in his presser that if Mixon keeps the ball, he better be dang sure it was the correct decision. Not exactly the way Bob said it, but I think the word "share" was in there someplace.
Bob said as much in is press conference, that Joe can throw the ball. I think there is a bunch of things you can do with that formation. Interesting enough is that they were using it at the goal line....the new belldozer. A couple of times he should have handed the ball off. I am sure some of that is pure nerves and being unsure.
Sometimes it lasts more than 4 hours.

I would like it better if Baker wasn't on the field, that is, get another weapon outside instead of Baker, blocker, receiver, etc.
I am almost positive that they weren't trying to read the handoff. Bob likes to minimize turnover possibilities. If they had been reading it, there were at least three times that he handed off when keeping would have been perfect or vice versa. But because they're doing it with the same personnel, and keeping Baker in the game, it makes it tougher for the defense to be prepared for two different skill sets.
My guess is that if they stick with it for more than a month or two, that by the time we play Baylor and TCU back to back, they'll have Joe ready to read the hand off, which will make it much more volatile.

Bob mentioned on his coaches show on one occasion that Mixon should have handed it to Perine for a sure TD. His comment was' we'll work on that'......

I'll reiterate that Joe can actually throw the ball pretty well. And to that I'll add that Mayfield can catch the ball. There's a pretty decent video of him making a one handed grab.
It didn't look polished when they ran it. But rest assured that it's a wrinkle opposing teams will have to consider. Teams might sleep on Joe not throwing it, especially to the QB. But that is a likely happening knowing the skill set of both players.
